Farming in Umuofia
The culture of the Ibo people is very agriculture based. There are male crops and female crops. A man's crop, for example, is yam and a female crop, for example, is melons and beans. Planting and farming yams is a tedious job and often showed their wealth. If a man does not have the land or money the village does sharecropping. This is where you farm on someone else's land and then the yams that you grow you have to split between yourself, the land owner, and the person who gave you the seed.
